Happy New Year Joggers; I do hope you had a good break. 2024 is going to be just amazing!!
I hope you got everything you wanted for Christmas (anyone didn’t get running kit?), and that you were able to get out to run off those mince pies. I did, but still seem to have developed a “cheese belly” under my running top; and isn’t it funny how some of your running kit feels a bit tight at the moment
Anyway….all is not lost, because we have lots going on for you to get out there and live you best life running….no excuses

It’s that time of year when we vote for our charity. We’ve had the following nominations, so you can now vote via the form here. You have until next Friday 12th January to vote and we will announce the chosen charity at the AGM on the 17th January

Parkrun Takeover, Worcester Woods, Saturday 3rd Feb
On Saturday 3rd Feb, the Malvern Joggers will be doing a “takeover” at Worcester Woods
So many of us run there and it’s a great opportunity for us to help the team out as they do such a good job; and also to promote the club
What can you do…well we’ll need people to marshall, first timers welcome, bar code scanners, pacers etc
We’ll have our new, super bright gazebo on show and bring tea and cakes
So get the date in your diary and we’ll post a list of roles for you to register on shortly – so watch this space
Membership
Your membership is now due. As an England Athletics registered club, a large proportion of your membership goes to them and they have increased their fee by £2. We have therefore had to increase membership by this amount to £29. I’d still argue the best sports club value around for ….running, fitness, friendship, social get together, support, events and just great fun!

Champions League Races are Up & Running
And you can see them all on the web now. The next one is actually tomorrow as the Cross Country at Cotswold Farm Park, and the next one at Brueton parkrun, 20th January which is near the NEC for the Running Show. You don’t have to do them all of course, but they’re great fun to run with your fellow club mates

AGM
Our AGM is Wednesday 17th January and will be held at the rugby club at 8.15pm, straight after our runs. Do please and stay for the meeting; it’s not too long and hopefully has some useful information for you from the committee. We’ll also be announcing our charity for 2024
An Evening with Nicky Spinks – can you still make it?
As we excitedly await the evening with Nicky Spinks on Monday 22nd January, I will be sending information on the evening prior to anyone with tickets. We have sold out, but if for some reason you can’t attend, could you let any member of the committee know so we can resell the tickets (no entrance on the night without a ticket, and no ticket sales on the night)
….and don’t forget that next Sunday 14thJanuary, Nicky will be embarking on The Spine race; the 268 mile non stop winter expedition race on The Pennine Way from Edale to Kirk Yetholm on the Scottish Borders….pheeeeeweeeee
That’s it for now, so get off that sofa (if you can! – appreciating some people are injured)
